Box Score NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (1-11, 0-6 Great Midwest) hosted Lake Erie College (8-5, 5-2 Great Midwest) on Thursday night and fell 82-79.

With the win, the Storm pushes their lead in the all-time series to 7-1.
THE FLOW
Caleb Terry led the Trojans out of the gate, scoring eight out of the first 10 points, and Trevecca got out to a 10-4 lead. Lake Erie fought back, and the teams would trade the lead throughout most of the first half. Lake Erie eventually built up their largest lead as they went up 25-20 with 5:05 left in the half. Then, Jose Waring made a pair of buckets, and Elon Smallwood made three consecutive threes during a 13-2 run as the Trojans went into halftime up 33-27.
Trevecca continued the scoring in the second half as they scored the first six points to make it 39-27. The Trojans led by as much as 13 when Elon Smallwood made a three to make it 44-31 with 17:17 left. But Lake Erie began to claw back into the game as they cut the Trojan's lead down to 50-46 with 13:04 left in the game. Elon Smallwood continued his intense night with five more points during a 9-2 run, which built Trevecca's lead back to 11. Lake Erie fought back and took the lead back following a 20-2 run, which made it 70-64 with 3:22 remaining. Lake Erie held on to their lead as the Trojans ran out of time.
THE PLAYERS
Elon Smallwood led the Trojans with a career high 32 points. Jose Waring and Jake Mulder both had 13 points. Caleb Terry added 12 points and nine rebounds.
THE TEAMS
The Trojans shot 60.4% (29-48) from the floor, 50% (6-12) from three-point range, and 71.4% (15-21) from the free-throw line. The Trojans had the advantage in assists 16-12.
UP NEXT
The Trojans will host Walsh University (6-6, 3-2 Great Midwest) on Saturday at 3:00 PM to finish the homestand.
