Box Score TIFFIN, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (4-16, 3-11 Great Midwest) defeated Tiffin University (9-11, 6-8 Great Midwest) on Monday afternoon by a score of 82-72. Four different Trojans scored double digit points.

THE SERIES
The Trojans have the lead in the series and now lead 4-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Trojans came out of the gate strong going up 15-2 after five minutes of play. Keely Carter had eight of the Trojans 15 points during that span, while making two three-pointers in under a minute's time. They would finish the first quarter on a 9-3 run following a Grace Baird three-pointer with six seconds left in the quarter.
The Trojans got a lead of 11 after an Alex McFarlin shot from deep. The Trojans lead by as much as 15 points when Katie Tate made a free-throw with just over two and a half minutes left in the half. The Trojans led 40-27 at halftime.
Tiffin came out of the half and fought back with a 7-2 run to bring their deficit to nine, but the Trojans responded with an 11-4 run of their own to regain the 15-point lead. Alex McFarlin made two three-pointers during that stretch. The Trojans went into the fourth quarter up 62-49.
The Dragons scored six points to open the fourth quarter. Both teams traded points back and forth throughout the quarter. As time ran down, Tiffin went on a 7-2 run to try and rally late. The Dragons pulled within six points with less than a minute to go. But the Trojans held off Tiffin's rally.
PLAYER PERFORMANCE
Keeley Carter now has nine games with 20+ points on the season as the sophomore finished with 22 points and four rebounds on 8-12 shooting. Emma Palmer collected 20 points and added 16 rebounds. Alex McFarlin had 17 points, two rebounds and two assists.
TEAM STATS
The Trojans shot 54.9% (28-51) from the field while hitting 11-29 (37.9%) from 3-point range and 15-22 (68.2%) from the foul line. The Trojans led the Dragons in rebounds, 37-24, and the Trojans had more assists 13-11.
UP NEXT
The Trojans will play at home the next two games, the first being Ashland University (20-1, 15-0 Great Midwest) on Thursday at 5:30 PM. The second on Saturday will be a rematch against Tiffin at 2:00 PM.
