Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (3-16, 2-11 Great Midwest) fell 76-70 to Cedarville University (13-8, 8-7 Great Midwest) on Saturday afternoon. Keely Carter set a new career high in points with 27. The Trojans rallied late but it fell just short.

Cedarville has continued its success over Trevecca, leading the all-time series 17-3 through 20 meetings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After playing last night due to weather delay the Trojans faced a quick turnaround when they faced Cedarville, just 19 and a half hours after walking off the court in Columbus. The Yellow Jackets came out to a quick 5-0 lead. Cedarville who was fresh and rested began to take advantage of their fresh legs and rattled off a 20-6 lead. The Trojans fought their way back into the game with a 14-7 run to bring them within seven. Five different Trojans got in on the scoring action, including Bayleigh Carmichel, who had five points. In the second quarter, the Trojans went on a 6-0 run marked by two jump shots by Keely Carter. As halftime drew near Trevecca made a late push capped off with a Bayleigh Carmichel three-pointer with three seconds left to bring the score to 47-37.
In the third quarter, both teams matched basket for basket. The Trojans came within eight points on multiple occasions and went into the fourth quarter down 66-58. In the fourth quarter, the scoring picked up with less than five minutes left when the Trojans came back with an 11-4 run to bring the Trojans within 72-70 with 2:35 left. But the rally fell just short.
PLAYER PERFORMANCE
Keeley Carter now has eight games with 20+ points on the season as the sophomore finished with a new career-high 27 points and six rebounds on 9-16 shooting. Bayleigh Carmichel collected a season-high 22 points and added eight rebounds. It is the second-most point in a game in her career. She scored 24 as a freshman against Ursuline.
TEAM STATS
The Trojans shot 42.4% (25-59) from the field while hitting 8-23 (34.8%) from 3-point range and 12-19 (63.2%) from the foul line. Cedarville led the Trojans in rebounds, 39-37, but the Trojans had more assists 13-10.

The Trojans finish off their three-game four-day road trip on Monday at Tiffin University (9-9, 6-6 Great Midwest), tip-off is set for 12:00 PM.
