Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (5-17, 2-13 Great Midwest) lost at Cedarville University (13-8, 9-5 Great Midwest), 91-68, at Callan Center to split the season series. The Trojan beat the Yellow Jackets on New Year's Day in Nashville.

The Yellow Jackets own the all-time series lead, 17-8. On January 1, 2022, the Trojan's win broke a nine-game winning streak for the Yellow Jackets in the series.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The two squads traded baskets through the first seven minutes of the game, with each team holding no more than a three-point advantage. With 13:05 to go, Trevecca led 17-16 on a CJ Penha basket in the lane. With 11:21 to go, the hosts held a modest three-point (22-19) advantage, but the tide turned in favor of CU as the Trojans were held scoreless for nearly six minutes while Cedarville tacked on 16 consecutive points to build a 19-point (38-19) advantage with 5:13 left in the half. The Trojans sliced four points off by the time the first half came to a close. CU led 46-31 at the break.
Despite playing on less than a day's rest. the Trojans came out fresh to start the second half, outscoring the Yellow Jackets 12-4 and trailed by seven (50-43) with 16:36 remaining. CU pushed the lead out to double-digits (14) with 14:03 remaining and held off the Trojans for the win.

Josh Price paced the Trojans with 18 points, hitting 7-11 from the field added five rebounds, two assists, and hit two of four from deep. CJ Penha (12), Elon Smallwood (10), and Caleb Terry (10) all reached double figures.

Trevecca shot it well from the field, hitting 60% (30-50). The team didn't get to the foul line until three minutes were left, and ended up hitting their only two free-throw attempts. Cedarville took the rebounding by one, 29-28. Cedarville shot made 12 three-pointers, hitting 36% (12-33) from the field.
