THE SERIES
Ursuline leads the all-time series 10-8 between the two original members of the Great Midwest. Ursuline has won four in a row in the series. The Trojans last won on January 31, 2019. Trevecca won the first seven meetings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Arrows, playing with just six players, jumped out to a 10-3 lead and eventually led 48-24 with 2:52 left in the half. Trevecca made a run in the second half, cutting the margin to 15 (55-40) with 7:22 left in the quarter. The Arrows extended the lead to 20 (81-61) with 6:16 to go, but the Trojans made one more push. TNU cut the lead to 13 (81-68) twice, the first time at 5:09 to go with a 7-0 run. With 2:53 to go the lead was 13 again (87-74), but the Trojans could get no closer.
PLAYER PERFORMANCE
Keeley Carter led the team with 22 points and threatened a triple-double with a team-high eight rebounds and seven assists. Grace Baird (12), Bayleigh Carmichel (10), and Emma Palmer (10) all reached double figures as well. Carmichel added five rebounds and Baird hit four of five from deep.
KEY TEAM STATS
The Trojans shot 48% (31-64) from the field and 28% (8-28) from three. Ursuline scorched the nets from deep, hitting 57% (16-38) from long range. They also outrebounded the Trojans 37-25. Trevecca had the edge in points in the paint, 46-34.
UP NEXT
On Saturday, the Trojans have their season finale and senior day with Lake Erie College the visitor at 2:00 PM at Trojan Fieldhouse. It will be senior day for Alex McFarlin.
