Box Score FINDLAY, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (4-19, 3-14 Great Midwest) was defeated by the University of Findlay (11-12, 9-8 Great Midwest), 71-66 on Monday afternoon. Four different Trojans reached double digit points, Keeley Carter (17), Grace Baird (12), Bayleigh Carmichel (10), and Emma Palmer (10).

THE SERIES
The ninth all-time meeting favored the Oilers who own a 7-2 lead in the series. Findlay won the meeting earlier in the season on December 2nd and sweep the season series with the Trojans.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Trojans on less than two days rest the Trojans traveled to Findlay. Findlay stormed out to an 8-2 lead. But the Trojans tied the game in less than a minute when Sydney Lockard and Grace Baird made back to back three-pointers. In the second quarter, the Oilers got out to a nine-point lead, but the Trojans took the lead back with 10 straight points to make it 24-23 with 3:45 left in the half. Both teams traded baskets and went into halftime tied at 28.
The second half of the game was tightly contested, with both teams trading baskets. However, Findlay pulled ahead with a five-point lead with 4:51 left in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, Findlay extended their lead, but Trevecca made multiple threes to cut the lead down to three on numerous occasions. With 5:21 to go, the Oilers led 59-51, but Emma Palmer scored to start a surge for the Trojans. Grace Baird made a three to cut the Findlay lead to three, 59-56, with 4:33 left. After trading baskets, Bayleigh Carmichel cut the margin to just two on a three-pointer with 3:17 to go. Findlay regained a six-point lead, but Grace Baird buried another three and the lead was three again with :44 left. That was as close as the Trojans would get and lost 71-66.
PLAYER PERFORMANCE
Keeley Carter had 17 points on 6-15 shooting from the floor. Carter added eight rebounds and a team high seven assists. Emma Palmer had 10 points and six rebounds. Grace Baird had 12 points, four rebounds, and four assists.
TEAM STATS
The Trojans shot 40.7% (24-59) from the field while shooting 11-24 (45.8%) and went 87.5% (7-8) from the free-throw line.
UP NEXT
The Trojans host Kentucky Wesleyan University (14-9, 11-6 Great Midwest) on Saturday at 2:00 PM. The Panthers won the previous meeting this season on December 18th.
