Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (1-10, 0-5 Great Midwest) traveled to Ohio Dominican (5-8, 2-5 Great Midwest) on Saturday afternoon and fell 74-57 at Alumni Hall.
THE SERIES
Ohio Dominican has the edge in the all-time series 7-4. The Panthers won both meetings last season.
THE FLOW
The Panthers jumped out to an early 12-4 advantage. Then a Zeke Grier three-pointer jumpstarted the Trojans as they cut their deficit to 14-11 at the halfway mark of the first half. Later, the Trojans got within 20-18 following a 7-2 run started by a Jake Mulder three-pointer. But the Panthers finished off the first half strong as they went into the break up 35-25.
Lawrence Brazil III led the Trojans out of the half as he made back-to-back three-pointers as the Trojans closed the gap to 38-33 following an 8-3 run. Later in the half, the Panthers pulled ahead and extended their lead to 58-46 with 7:55 left. Ohio Dominican would not relinquish the lead.
THE PLAYERS
Caleb Terry and Zeke Grier both had 11 points each to lead the Trojans. Lawrence Brazil III and Jose Waring both had 10 points each.
THE TEAMS
The Trojans shot 38% (19-50) from the floor, 28% (8-29) from three-point range, and 79% (11-14) from the free-throw line. The Trojans outrebounded Ohio Dominican 33-31.
UP NEXT
The Trojans will return home to face Lake Erie College (6-5, 3-2 Great Midwest) on Thursday at 7:30 PM. Walsh (5-6, 2-2 Great Midwest) will visit on Saturday at 3:00 PM to finish the home stand.
