Box Score MIDLAND, Mich. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (1-5, 0-1 Great Midwest) traveled to Northwood University (1-6, 1-0 Great Midwest) on Thursday night and fell 59-38 at Riepma Arena.
THE SERIES
The series is now 0-2 in Northwood's favor. The first meeting between the two teams was way back in the 1977-78 season, which Northwood won.
THE FLOW
Josh Goings got the scoring started with a three-pointer as the Trojans started with a 7-4 lead just five minutes in. Northwood and the Trojans traded baskets and the lead in the early going. As the teams settled in, Lawrence Brazil III scored seven points, including a three-pointer, during a 9-3 run that made it 29-26 Trojans with 1:52 left in the half. But Northwood scored five points to go into halftime up 31-29.
Josh Goings scored the first basket of the second half to tie the game, but Northwood scored the following 14 points to build a 45-31 lead with 9:39 left. Northwood continued to build its lead as time winded down. The Trojans fought hard, but Northwood's lead was too much to overcome.
THE PLAYERS
Josh Goings led the Trojans with 11 points and a pair of rebounds. Lawrence Brazil III had nine points and six rebounds.
THE TEAMS
The Trojans shot 27.3% (15-55) from the floor, 12.5% (3-24) from three-point range, and 71.4% (5-7) from the free-throw line.

The Trojans will finish the road swing at Hillsdale College (7-0) on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
