Box Score NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (4-10, 1-6 Great Midwest), fell to Ohio Dominican University (4-9, 2-4 Great Midwest), 56-51, at Trojan Fieldhouse Monday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Trevecca looked to continue the momentum from Saturday's win against Cedarville in its second game of the new year. However, after scoring the first points, the Trojans gave up 8-0 run to the Panthers. Jaylon Tharpe eventually tied the game at 15-15 with a 3-pointer seven minutes into the first half. During the Trojans rally, CJ Penha tallied five points. He gave the Trojans a brief 23-22 lead with just over six minutes left in the half, but the Trojans went into halftime down 32-29.
Coming out of the break the Trojans worked hard to tie the game at 35-35 just four minutes into the half. Following that, Ohio Dominican made three out of four 3-pointers in a row as part of a 9-2 run to separate. In fact, Ohio Dominican led by as many as nine points during the half, before Trevecca cut their deficit to 52-51. Down the stretch, the Trojans were unable to score any more points and fell 56-51.
PLAYER STATS BREAKDOWN
CJ Penha led the Trojans with 17 points and finished off the double-double with 11 rebounds. Josh Price added 11 points, four rebounds, and an assist. Jaylon Tharpe finished with eight points, three rebounds, and two assists.
TEAM STATS BREAKDOWN
The Trojans shot 36.2% (21-58) from the floor, 20.8% (5-24) from three-point range, and 66.7% (4-6) from the free-throw line. TNU had a better shooting percentage from the field (36.2% to 34.5%). The Trojans scored more points in the paint, 32-14, and outrebounded Ohio Dominican 40 to 35.

The Trojans begin a five-game road trip Thursday when they take on Great Midwest newcomer, Ashland University at 6:30 p.m.
