Box Score ASHLAND, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (4-13, 1-9 Great Midwest) lost on the road at Ashland University (11-6, 8-3 Great Midwest) 70-46 at the Eagle's Jack Miller Stadium.

Conference newcomer Ashland laid claim to victory in the teams' first-ever meeting. The season series concludes with a matchup in Trojan Fieldhouse on February 10th.
HOW IT HAPPENED
In the midst of a five-game 10-day window, the Trojans utilized their bench early and often against the Eagles. CJ Penha opened the scoring for the Trojans with a 3-pointer to take a 3-2 lead early on, the only Trevecca would enjoy in the game. Ashland countered leading 20-5 by making six 3-pointers. The Trojans trimmed the deficit down to seven when a 9-1 run, highlighted by four CJ Penha points and a 3-pointer by Calvin Walker, made it a 21-14 game. Ashland took a 36-18 lead into the break. The Eagles struck early and often in the second half, using a 7-1 run to capitalize on a 20-point lead. Eight different Trojans entered the scorebook in the final 20 minutes, scoring 28 points.
PLAYER STATS BREAKDOWN
CJ Penha scored a game-high 14 points and grabbed six rebounds. The Taylor transfer was supported by Calvin Walker who also touched double-digits. Walker produced 10 points and five rebounds.
TEAM STATS BREAKDOWN
The Trojans shot 34% from the field (16-of-47) as a team, while hitting 28% (5-of-18) from range. Both sides hit nine free throws.
While Trevecca outrebounded the hosts, 35-33, they fell behind in assists 14-7 and steals 14-6. Ashland's Aaron Thompson set a school record for eight steals against the Trojans this afternoon.
