Trevecca Men's Basketball | Trojans Great Midwest Run Ends at No. 9 Hillsdale

Box Score

HILLSDALE, Mich. – The season ended for the Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (5-17) on Tuesday in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Quarterfinals. Top-seeded Hillsdale College (20-1) had to battle into the second half with the Trojans, but in the end, the nationally-ranked Chargers pulled away to advance with an 89-58 win at Dawn Tibbetts Potter Arena. The No. 9 Chargers won the G-MAC regular season title

The Trojans made the Great Midwest field for the first time in the Omar Mance Era. The appearance breaks a four-year draught and is the first time since the league expanded in 2016-2017 the Trojans have enjoyed a taste of March Madness.

This marks the 17th consecutive win for the Chargers this season. Their lone loss is a 68-65 setback at then No. 10 University of Findlay, the Oilers hit a shot as the horn sounded for the win over the then No. 23 Chargers.

Trevecca closed the gap to five with a 6-2 run and trailed by six (29-23) at the break.

The top-seeded Chargers turned up the pressure and used a 13-0 start to the second half to gain control with a 19-point (42-23) advantage with 17:31 left. The Chargers slowly built on that lead and never let the Trojans gain any significant momentum.
