Box Score NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University (3-4, 0-2 Great Midwest) fell to No. 15 and preseason Great Midwest favorite Hillsdale College (6-1, 2-0 Great Midwest), 73-48, at Trojan Fieldhouse on Saturday in front of a strong crowd on Silent Night.

Hillsdale extends their all-time series lead to 10-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Trojans stormed out of the gates with a 10-2 run highlighted by two three-pointers off the fingertips of Chris Rogers and a pair of buckets by CJ Penha. The defending champions were not fazed. After a Hillsdale timeout, the Chargers showed why they are ranked No. 15 scoring 16 unanswered points for an 18-10 edge with 9:46 remaining in the half. The Trojans scrapped back within a point (20-19) with a 9-0 run capped with a Chris Rogers three-pointer with 6:01 to go in the half. After the Chargers pushed the lead to six again (29-23), Trevecca closed the half on a 6-2 run and trailed 31-29.
Trevecca scored the first five points of the second half producing an 11-2 run in total and led 34-31. The teams battled for the next four minutes and with 14:40 left in the game, Hillsdale led 40-38 after CJ Penha scored. That is when Hillsdale flexed again holding the Trojans scoreless for more than four minutes. The next Trojan basket came with 4:15 left when Caleb Terry scored. The Chargers didn't tread water, scoring 24 points in a row. When the dust settled, Hillsdale led 64-38 before the Penha basket.
PLAYER STATS BREAKDOWN
CJ Penha and Chris Rogers each scored 14 points. Penha added nine rebounds. Brendan Newton grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the team.
TEAM STATS BREAKDOWN
Both teams went into halftime with a 41.4 field goal percentage. The Trojans shot an impressive 62.5% (5-8) from three-point range while holding Hillsdale to only 37.5% (6-16). There were almost no fouls called in the first half, Trevecca was whistled three times and no personal fouls were levied against the visitors. The first foul against Hillsdale didn't come until there was just 12:44 remaining.
For the game, Hillsdale shot 45.8% from the field and hit 15 three-pointers at a 40.5% clip. They hit just 4-6 from the foul line.
Trevecca outrebounded the Chargers 36-35 but shot just 35.1% from the field. Trevecca hit 7-15 (47%) from deep but only shot two free throws, hitting one.
Other key team stats in favor of the visitors include a 4-11 turnover advantage, providing a path for an 18-2 edge in points scored off turnovers.

The Trojans continue G-MAC play at Malone University (5-2, 1-0) on Thursday at 7:00 PM, then head to Walsh University (3-2, 1-0) on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
