SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
The Panthers lead the series 14-3 after 17 all-time meetings. The Trojans did not win a game in December and are on an eight-game losing streak.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Just four seconds into the game, Jordan Roland converted a quick basket off the opening tip. The bucket seemed to set the pace for the opening minutes which saw Roland score Kentucky Wesleyan's first five points. The Panthers jumped out to an early 8-0 advantage causing Omar Mance to use his first timeout. Out of the timeout, the Trojans responded with a run of their own. CJ Penha scored the Trojans' first five points as Trevecca rattled off a 9-0 run to take its first lead. Down the stretch, the Panthers' lead grew to as many as 12, 43-31 when Jordan Roland connected for his final points of the first half with 3:30 to play. Despite owning better shooting percentages from both the floor and 3-point range, the Trojans faced a 47-37 deficit at the break.
The Panthers opened the second half, much like they did in the first, with a 5-0 run. Despite a Trojan push to cut it to 56-46 with just over 15 minutes to play, Trevecca could not crawl any closer. The Panthers claimed an 84-64 as six players for Kentucky Wesleyan reached double figures.
