Box Score NORTH CANTON, Ohio – While playing shorthanded, the Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (1-9, 0-4 Great Midwest) fell 77-57, to Walsh University (6-2, 2-1 Great Midwest) on Saturday in North Canton.

Walsh now has an all-time lead in the series 6-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
With nagging injuries to top players, the Trojans faced a tough challenge in Walsh. After giving up the first basket, Alex McFarlin made a jump shot that tied the game 2-2. Walsh would quickly respond with a three-pointer to go up 5-2. A lead that they would not relinquish for the rest of the game. The Trojans went into halftime down 40-20. Bayleigh Carmichel led the Trojans in scoring with seven points, followed closely behind by Keeley Carter with six points. Trevecca shot 30.8% from the field in the first half and 13.3% from three-point range.
In the second half, the Trojans got into foul trouble when Emma Palmer received her fourth personal foul and two other Trojans were up to three. In the meantime, the Cavaliers continued to pile on points. The Trojans kept the game competitive and they refused to give up.
PLAYER PERFORMANCE
Keeley Carter led the Trojans with 14 points while shooting 5-9 from the field and added four assists. Emma Palmer added 12 points and six rebounds. Bayleigh Carmichel had 10 points with three rebounds.
TEAM STATS
The Trojans were just 36.8% (21-57) from the field where they were 3-24 (12.5%) from deep. The Trojans committed four more turnovers and committed two less fouls.

The Trojans visit Kentucky Wesleyan College (6-3, 3-0 Great Midwest) in Owensboro next Saturday at 2 p.m.
