Box Score NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (3-6, 0-4 Great Midwest) lost its fifth straight game at Walsh University (5-2, 3-0 Great Midwest), 89-83, in double overtime at the Cecchini Center on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Trojans connected on their first three shots, and quickly jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the opening two minutes. Nearly a minute later the Cavaliers had countered with a 5-0 run to tie the game at 7-7 with 17:37 to play. For the second consecutive game, the Trojans did not earn a trip to the free-throw line in the first half, while the Cavaliers shot 6-for-8 from the charity stripe. In the first half, the Trojans were led by Chris Rogers who was 4-for-5 from downtown finishing with 12 points. Despite committing three more turnovers, the Trojans held a 31-29 lead at halftime.
On its second possession of the second half, Walsh recaptured the lead with a made 3-pointer as the game remained close through the under 16 media timeout. Josh Price, who collected seven of his 19 points in the second half, connected for a 3-pointer with 11:18 to play to tie the game, 42-42. The Trojans lengthened their lead to as many as five with 4:10 to go after Caleb Terry slammed home a dunk. Out of the under 4 media timeout, the Cavaliers' Darryl Straughter hit one of his four made 3-pointers to make it a two-point game. Trailing 61-59, Tim Smith Jr forced overtime with a made layup with 17 seconds left.
Straughter captured the first points of overtime before Rogers answered with a 3-pointer. In fact, it was the 3-point shooting for the Cavaliers that allowed them the victory. With the clock winding down, Owen Hazelbaker connected from distance to tie the game at 71-71. After scoring the first four points of double overtime, the Cavaliers ran away from the Trojans, winning 89-83.
PLAYER STATS BREAKDOWN
Chris Rogers led the Trojans with 21 points on 5-of-8 shooting from three-point range. Rogers also grabbed seven rebounds. CJ Penha finished with 19 points and a team-most 15 rebounds for the double-double while Josh Price scored all of his 19 points in the second half and overtime.
TEAM STATS BREAKDOWN
Trevecca shot better than Walsh in every category, 44.9% (31-69) from the floor, 35.7% (10-28) from three-point range and 78.6% (11-14) from the free-throw line, but still came up short. The Trojans grabbed more rebounds 49-46, yet committed three times the turnovers, 18-6.

The Trojans head down to the Sunshine State next week to participate in the University of Tampa hosted "Tampa Classic." Over two days Trevecca takes on Eckerd College (1-6, 0-3 SSC) and Tampa (4-3, 1-2) on Friday, December 17th, and Saturday, December 18th.
