THE SERIES

Trevecca leads the all-time series 7-3 with the win. UAH won the last meeting (66-65) in 2019, but the Trojans have won three of the last four. Trevecca is 4-2 at Kelly Court @ Spragin Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Appropriately, the game's opening basket came off the fingertips of Faith Wilken, who went on to produce a career night scoring and rebounding. Wilken hit a three-pointer with 1:19 gone on the first quarter clock. Baily Carmichel hit a three on the next trip down the floor, and the Trojans led 6-0. Trevecca led 8-2 with 7:02 left in the quarter, but UAH closed the quarter strong, outscoring the Trojans 12-2 for a 14-10 lead with :10 on the clock. A free throw from Alexa Smiddy made it 14-11 UAH at the break.

The surge by the Chargers continued into the second quarter as the hosts built a seven-point lead (18-11) with 9:10 to go in the half. Including the late run in the first quarter, the Chargers outscored the Trojans 16-3 in the run that spanned two quarters. With 4:25 to go in the half, the UAH lead was seven (27-20). Trevecca closed the half with an 8-0 run for a 28-27 lead at the half. Faith Wilken started the run with a pair of free throws, then Emma Palmer scored six straight for the Trojans.

With 8:43 on the third-quarter clock, UAH regained the lead 31-30. Then six different Trojans scored as part of a 17-4 Trojan run. When the dust settled, the Trojans led by 12 (47-35) with 2:11 to go in the third. At the end of three, the Trojans led remained 12 (52-40).

The Trojans raised the lead to the largest of the night (14) with the first basket of the fourth quarter, putting the Trojans up 54-40 with 9:09 remaining. As expected, the host Chargers made one more run. UAH scored 10 consecutive points to make it a four-point game (54-50) with 6:56 left. The Trojans responded, building the lead to 10 again and settling for a seven-point road win.

PLAYER PERFORMANCE

Along with her career night scoring and rebounding, Faith Wilken hit 10-17 from the field, 3-7 from deep, and both free throws. She added three assists, two steals, and a block.

Emma Palmer (12) and Alexa Smiddy (10) reached double-figure scoring as well. Palmer grabbed seven rebounds and had a block while Smiddy led the team in assists with five and hit 4-7 from the field.
