Box Score ROLLA, Mo.– Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball (1-1) team suffered their first loss of the season, 91-69, in a neutral site game against the Southwest Baptist University (1-0) Bearcats. The two teams were participating in the Miner Classic at Missouri S&T. CJ Penha's 30 points led the Trojans.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Southwest Baptist and Trevecca played a back-and-forth affair throughout the first half. With 7:57 remaining in the half, the teams were tied 20-20. An 11-2 Bearcat run over 2:37 of game time turned the game in their favor. With the Bearcats leading 31-22, the Trojans fought back with a 9-3 run to trail only 34-31 with CJ Penha scoring all nine points. Unfortunately, the Bearcats finished the first half with an 11-4 run to lead by 10 (45-35) at halftime.
After the opening three-pointer by SBU, the Trojans scored five straight, highlighted by a Chris Rogers 3-pointer, cutting the lead to eight (48-40) with 18:53 left. The Bearcats again thwarted the Trojan's momentum, going on a 7-0 run to build a 15-point lead (55-40) with 16:16 remaining. With 10:02 to go, SBU lead by 21 (71-50). Four different Trojans (Chris Rogers, Brendan Newton, CJ Penha, and Josh Price) scored in a 19-6 Trojan run that cut the SBU lead to nine (78-69) with 4:06 to go. However, Southwest Baptist regrouped to put the game out of reach.
PLAYER STATS BREAKDOWN
CJ Penha, following up his Trojan debut, leading the team with 30 points and six rebounds. Penha shot 9-20 from the field and 9-9 and the line.
Josh Price was second with 16 points while shooting.
Chris Rogers scored nine and grabbed two rebounds. He dished out three assists.
TEAM STATS BREAKDOWN
Trevecca shot 38.6% (22-57) from the field, hit 30.4% (7-23) from deep, and 90% (18-20) from the line.
Southwest Baptist shot 50.9% (28-55) from the field. They also hit 56.5% (13-23) from three-point range and 75.9% (22-29) from the foul line.

Trevecca returns home on Wednesday, hosting Birmingham Southern (1-0) at 5:30 PM at the Trojan Fieldhouse.
