THE SERIES

The Panthers improve to 5-0 all-time versus the Trojans including four wins in the "Pops" Duncan Classic.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Facing the #2 ranked Drury Panthers, the Trojans faced adversity early. Overwhelmed by the pressure and pace that Drury offered, the Trojans quickly saw themselves in a 7-0 deficit. The early lead for Amy Eagan's squad would not be surrendered as the Panthers controlled a 30-17 lead after the first quarter. The second frame was the only the Trojans would win. Outscoring the Panthers by two points, it was Keeley Carter who produced nine of her team-high 20 points in the second. The Trojans faced a 48-37 halftime deficit. Bayleigh Carmichael hit back-to-back treys to open the third quarter to pull the Trojans within nine. The next basket was a Keeley Carter made jumper as the Trojans threatened the Panthers' advantage, trailing 52-45. Drury responded, using a 19-0 run to put the contest away. An 80-50 Drury lead after three quarters turned into a 37-point Trojan loss as the Panthers won.

THE PLAYER

Keeley Carter led the way with a team-high 20 points, and a trio of rebounds, assists, and steals. Carter was 7-for-10 from the free-throw line.

For the Panthers, Kaylee DaMitz finished with 23 points and five assists.

THE TEAM

The Trojans shot 34.5% from the field, 19-55, and were 23.8% from beyond the arc, 5-21. Active on the glass all game, the Panthers outrebounded the Trojans 44-35. The Trojans shared the rock 11 times and had eight steals.
