SERIES HISTORY/NOTES

It was the eighth all-time meeting between the two programs, and Trevecca fell to 1-7 all-time with the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trevecca commanded the lead early in the first half, starting the game with a 13-4 run capped off by a jumper by Austin Wills. Walsh fought back slightly to cut the lead to five, but the Trojans answered back with an 8-2 run and led the entire first half. Trevecca's stifling defense and hot shooting in the first half helped the Trojans to a 29-16 lead with 1:44 to play before the break after an Adam Webb layup. The Trojans led 29-18 at halftime.

The momentum continued in the second half, as Trevecca outscored Walsh 10-8 through the first five minutes of play to lead 39-26 with 14:55 left after another layup by Webb. Christian Monague's strong performance for Walsh powered the Cavaliers on Thursday, as the home team started working its way back into it as the second half continued. Anytime the Cavaliers cut the Trevecca lead back down to single digits, Adam Webb responded with a crucial bucket, including another short-range layup to maintain a 43-33 lead with 12:53 to play. Two minutes of play went by before Trevecca was able to find the bottom of the net again, but Austin Wills hit a shot from deep with 10:29 to play and Trevecca led 46-35. The Trojans' lead was built back up to 10 with a three-pointer by Calvin Walker with 8:20 to go. This is where Walsh turned the tide, ripping off a 14-0 run to take the first lead of the game, 55-51 on a pair of free throws by Luke Howse. Trevecca hung around down the stretch, but could not regain the lead en route to a 67-59 loss.
