SERIES HISTORY/NOTES

It was the seventh all-time meeting between Trevecca and Findlay, and the Trojans improved to 2-5 in the series. It was the first win over Findlay since January 25, 2018, and it ended a three-game losing skid to the Oilers.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trevecca started off hot, taking a commanding 16-6 lead in the first quarter with three-pointers coming from Keeley Carter, Samantha Whiteman, and Annaliese Burnett to lead 20-15 at the end of the opening frame. Findlay battled back in the second quarter, outscoring the Trojans 17-8 to lead 32-28 at halftime. Findlay junior Sydney Kin – a contender for Great Midwest Player of the Year – came alive in the second quarter, and finished the game with 28 points and nine rebounds.

It was a high-scoring third quarter on both ends, as Trevecca outscored Findlay 28-26 in that period but trailed 58-56 heading into the final 10 minutes. The Trojans shared the ball well in the fourth quarter, finding timely shots from different players, including three-point jumpers by Kaitlynn Willks and Burnett. As Trevecca continued to manufacture points through a lengthy Findlay defense, the Trojans won the ball back on the defensive end in key moments, with a pair of crucial offensive fouls by Findlay forced in the fourth quarter.

The Trojans led 71-69 with 3:21 to play following a jumper by Olivia Pepperman and were able to string together solid defensive possessions and hit free throws to close out the win.
