Box Score NASHVILLE - The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team, playing for the first time this season, faced a tall challenge in conference leader Cedarville University. The 10-1 Yellow Jackets have now won 10 in a row after a season-opening loss, defeating the Trevecca 94-61.

The Yellow Jackets extended their win streak in the series to 11 and now led 14-3 all-time. The last Trevecca win came February 12, 2015 when the Trojans claimed a 69-60 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Cedarville scored the opening basket, but with 4:09 left in the first quarter, the Yellow Jackets held just a one-point (11-10) lead and the game remained close with 2:28 left in the quarter and CU leading 16-14. The visitors scored the final five points of the quarter for a 21-14 first-quarter lead. The Yellow Jackets kept the pressure on with a 13-2 run to start the second quarter. Their lead hit 34-16 lead with 6:10 left in the half. The Trojans did not cut the lead below 12 the rest of the way. Trevecca did outscore Cedarville 14-13 in the fourth quarter. Cedarville outscored Trevecca 38-35 in the second half.
PLAYER STATS REPORT
Faith Wilken led the Trojans with 15 points while Keeley Carter collected her first career double-double in her first collegiate game with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Alex McFarlin, who scored 10, hit a pair of three-pointers. Isabelle Bolender scored a game-high 17 for Cedarville.
In all, five new Trojans scored their first points wearing the Purple and White.
TEAM STATS BREAKDOWN
Cedarville's high-octane offense shot better than 60% from the field in the first half, but cooled off in the second and shot 47.8% (33-69) from the field for the game. The Yellow Jackets hit 11-three-pointers, but just 29.7% from the field, well below their season average of 42.9% coming into the night. Trevecca shot 30.6% (22-72) from the field and connected on just five of 30 three-point attempts. Trevecca did outrebound Cedarville 46-44. Trevecca had just two offensive rebounds in the first half but managed 12 for the game.
WHAT'S NEXT
Trevecca hosts Hillsdale College (1-8, 1-8 Great Midwest) Thursday at 4:30 PM. Saturday the Trojans welcomes the University of Findlay (5-4, 5-4 Great Midwest) at 1:30 PM. Both games are set for the Trojan Fieldhouse and no spectators are allowed until further notice at Trojan Fieldhouse.
The Trojans hit the road, but just to Owensboro, Ky. where they'll take on the Panthers of Kentucky Wesleyan College (6-3, 6-3 Great Midwest) at 5:30 PM on Monday, January 25. The next three games are also on the road. The Trojans close out January playing at Walsh University (4-3, 4-3 Great Midwest) on the 28th at 4:30 PM, Malone University (3-7, 3-7 Great Midwest) on the 30th at Noon, and at Hillsdale College (1-8, 1-8 Great Midwest) on the 31st at 1 PM.
