Box Score ELKINS, W. Va. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (8-16, 5-10 Great Midwest) defeated Alderson Broaddus University (6-18, 3-12 Great Midwest) 68-54 in the McDonnell Center on Thursday.

*With the win, the Trojans continue their winnings ways over the Battlers by claiming their 12th win in 14 contests.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The lead changed hands five times in the opening 10 minutes with neither team capturing more than a four-point advantage. Leading 16-13 after the first quarter, the Trojans offense lit up in the second. Trevecca outscored Alderson Broaddus by 11 in the frame leaving the Trojans with a 36-22 halftime lead which was capped by a Samantha Whiteman shot at the buzzer. The Trojans opened the second half on a 5-0 run to lead 41-22 and led by as many as 23 when Olivia Pepperman scored the Trojans' 50th point. The lead was 55-35 after three quarters. The fourth quarter was the only the home team, outscoring the Trojans 19-13 down the stretch was not enough as Trevecca hung on for the 68-54 win.
PLAYER STATS REPORT
Kaitlynn Wilks scored a team-high 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting in 26 minutes. Olivia Pepperman neared a quadruple-double with 14 points, seven rebounds, nine assists, and eight steals. Bayleigh Carmichel hit three 3-pointers to finish with nine points.
TEAM STATS BREAKDOWN
Trevecca shot 48.3% (28-58) from the field and 31.6% (6-19) from three-point range. The Trojans won the rebounding battle 36-33 as the Battlers picked up the edge in assists 17-16.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Trojans finish their West Virginia week with a game against Ohio Valley (3-17, 1-13 Great Midwest) on Saturday at 12:00 PM.
Trevecca has had similar success against OVU as against ABU, leading the Fighting Scots 10-1 in the all-time series.
