Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (7-13, 4-7 Great Midwest) lost 77-41 to Great Midwest Athletic Conference rivals Cedarville University (15-5, 8-3 Great Midwest) in the Callan Athletic Center on Thursday.
SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
The Yellow Jackets improved to 12-3 in the all-time series against the Trojans. The teams concluded the season series tonight; the first game played this season favored Cedarville, 64-43 in Nashville on December 16.
HOW IT HAPPENED
A winning streak was set to fall in Cedarville on Thursday as the Trojans entered the contest on a four-game stride and the Yellow Jackets having won their last three contests. Four different Trojans scored in the first quarter as the lead changed four times in the first seven minutes. After the Trojans tied the game at 9-9 with 3:20 to play, the Jackets went on to score the quarter's final eight points taking a 17-9 lead into the second. The 8-0 CU run extended into the second quarter where Emily Chapman and Abby Wolford hit a jumper and 3-pointer respectively to give the Jackets a 12-point advantage (21-9). The Trojans found the scoreboard in the second behind a Samantha Whiteman before the Jackets offense strung together a 7-0 run to lead 28-11. The Yellow Jackets took a 35-15 advantage into the halftime break. In the third quarter, the Jackets broke open the game behind two and a half minute 12-0 run from 6:34 to 3:55. Outscoring the Trojans 24-9 in the third quarter, the Jackets held a 59-24 lead going into the fourth. The closest of the four quarters was the final frame in which the Jackets just edged the Trojans 18-17 to win 77-41.

12 different Trojans scored as Olivia Pepperman tallied a team-high six points and grabbed a team-best five rebounds. Both Kaitlyn Wilks and Shekinah McLaughlin contributed five points.
TEAM STATS BREAKDOWN
Trevecca shot 29.1% (16-55) from the field and 26.3% (5-19) from three-point range. The Jackets grabbed 35 rebounds to the Trojans 30. CU held the edge at the free-throw line (TNU= 4-8 – 50%) (CU= 13-15 – 86.7%). The Jackets led 17-6 in assists and bench points, 44-21.

The Trojans conclude the week with a stop in Pepper Pike, Ohio to challenge Ursuline College (5-13, 2-7 Great Midwest) on Saturday, February 1.
Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM when the Trojans look for their ninth win over the Arrows all-time. Trevecca leads the series 8-6.
