CANTON, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (3-11, 0-5 Great Midwest) lost, 81-53, at Great Midwest foe Malone University (8-4, 4-0 Great Midwest) in the Osborne Hall on Thursday.

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES

The meeting is the seventh in the NCAA D2 Era, with the Pioneers victorious in all seven meetings. The Trojans were 4-0 during the NAIA Era in the series.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trevecca welcomed back four players to the game tonight and were rewarded early with a three-pointers from Bailey Carmichel who hit a three-pointer early for a 3-2 Trojan lead … the homestanding Pioneers regained the lead and outscored the Trojans 24-16 through the first quarter … in the second quarter Malone pushed the Trojans to the brink, outscoring the vistors 24-8 for a 48-24 lead at the half … in the third Malone outscored the Trojans 18-14, extending their lead to 66-38 … in the fourth, Malone and the Trojans played to a 15-15 draw concluding with an 81-53 final … the Pioneers hit at least two three pointers in each quarter.
