CANTON, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (1-13, 1-4 Great Midwest) lost, 75-53, in a Great Midwest game at Malone University (9-5, 3-1 Great Midwest) in the Osborne Hall on Thursday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trevecca opened the game on fire with a 13-7 led four Trojans who scored in the opening seven minutes with five of the first 13 TNU points … Malone didn't lead until a Jaret Majestic three-pointer at the 10:00 mark put the Pioneers up 18-16, Malone built a 12-point (31-19) lead with 3:42 remaining in the half, Trevecca cut it to 10 (31-21) with 3:07 left, but the Pioneers gained separation with a 9-0 run to the break to take a 40-21 lead to the half … Reed Smith broke that run with a three-pointer to open the second half, but the Pioneers scored the next 13 for a 29-point (53-24) lead with 16:29 remaining … with the hosts leading 57-30 and 13:33 remaining in the game, the Trojans produced their best run, an 8-0 run, which was capped by a Nathan Harper basket at the 9:27 mark and pulling the Trojans to within 19 (57-38) … Malone rebuilt a 29-point lead and settled for a 75-53 win.
