HILLSDALE, MI – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (4-20, 4-15 G-MAC) lost to Hillsdale College (18-8, 14-5 G-MAC), 78-52, in Potter Arena on Thursday evening.

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES

Trevecca and Hillsdale met for the second time this season and the fourth time ever. Hillsdale defeated Trevecca 79-56 on January 26 in Trojan Fieldhouse. Hillsdale leads 4-0 in the all-time series.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Hillsdale opened the game with a bucket before Nathan Harper (SO/Lexington, KY) connected for a 3-pointer to give the Trojans their only lead of the game … HC used an 11-0 run to take a 13-3 lead within the first five minutes … the Trojans pulled back within two (16-14) after an 11-3 run … trailing 21-18 with 3:47 remaining in the first half the Chargers closed out the half scoring the final 10 points to take a 31-18 lead into the break … Hillsdale connected for nine 3-pointers in the second half … the Chargers shot 68% as a team from the field to build on their 13-point halftime lead … HC jumped out to lead 63-33 during a 10-0 run in a two minute period of the second half … Hillsdale won 78-52.

TEAM STATS BREAKDOWN

The Trojans shot 44.4% from the field, 50.0% from 3-point range and 66.7% from the foul line … the Chargers shot 56.0% from the field and 46.2% from 3-point range while also going 71.4% from the foul line … HC outrebounded TNU 28-24 and had more assists, 21-10 … HC led in blocks, 4-0 and steals, 7-5.

Imani Starling (SO/Nashville, TN) scored a team-high 14 points (6-8 FG) to go with seven rebounds and four assists … Nathan Harper helped out with 11 points and two rebounds … Evan Ragsdale (JR/Nashville, TN) made three 3-pointers off the bench to finish with nine … Austin Wills (SO/Benton, IL) and Reed Smith (SO/Brentwood, TN) both added six points.

WHAT'S NEXT  

The Trojans conclude their regular season with a Saturday afternoon tipoff against the University of Findlay (23-3, 16-2) at 2 PM. Findlay owns a 5-0 advantage in the all-time series including an 87-51 victory over Trevecca on January 24.
