Box Score NASHVILLEÂ – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (3-8, 0-2 Great Midwest) lost its final non-conference game 61-43, to Lane College (1-7, 0-2 SIAC) in Trojan Fieldhouse on Thursday.

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
The Dragons and Trojans are level 1-1 in the all-time series behind Lane's win. The Trojans won the first ever game played in 2016, 52-47, which was coach Chad Hibdon's first collegiate victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Trojans fell into a 7-0 hole to open the game and were forced to play from behind for most of the opening quarter. Kaitlyn Wilks got the Trojan offense going by scoring six of the Trojans 14 first quarter points. Wilks' jumper with 4:04 to play tied the game at 9-9 and then an Olivia Delk layup put Trevecca ahead 14-13, the Trojans only lead of the game. Two made free throws with 12 seconds remaining gave the Dragons a 15-14 lead after the first quarter. The second quarter belonged to the Dragons who outscored the Trojans, 14-10. Lane used a 4-0 run to close out the half and take a 29-24 lead into the break. The Trojans were only outscored by two in the third quarter, facing a seven-point deficit of 42-35 entering the fourth quarter. After Lane pushed out to a nine-point lead the Trojans answered with a Lucy Edosomah basket (6:37) to bring it back to within seven. From there a 9-0 run left Trevecca trailing 55-39. The Dragons held on for a 61-43 win, their first of the season.

TEAM STATS BREAKDOWN
Trevecca shot 29.8% (17-57) from the field and was 2-25 (8%) from 3-point range. The Trojans finished 58.3% (7-12) from the free-throw line. Â Though both teams collected 44 rebounds, the Dragons edged out the Trojans in assists 12-8 and steals 9-2.

PLAYER STATS REPORT
Kaitlyn Wilks tied her career-high with 15 points for the third time this season. Wilks earned her first collegiate double-double by grabbing a team-high 14 rebounds. Samantha Whiteman also finished with 15 points to go with three rebounds and two assists.

Trevecca returns to Great Midwest play with a Monday night game against conference rivals Cedarville (0-0, 0-0 G-MAC) at 5:30 in Trojan Fieldhouse.

Cedarville took both meetings last season and hold an 11-3 advantage in the all-time series. The Trojans travel to Cedarville, Ohio on January 30 to close out the season series.Â
