NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (3-1) soared to a 79-54 non-conference win over Shorter University (0-2) at Trojan Fieldhouse on Saturday.

Olivia Pepperman led three Trojans in double-figures with 31 points.

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES

Trevecca leads the series 5-1 in the NCAA D2 era and are 11-3 including NAIA competition.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trevecca opened the game with a 9-0 run and didn't allow Shorter their first points until 5:35 was left in the first quarter … with 7:36 left in the first half, Trevecca led 27-7 … Shorter did not cut the Trojan led under 11 the rest of the game …

TEAM STATS BREAKDOWN

Trevecca shot 46.5% (33-71) from the field and outrebounded the Hawks 48-37 … Trevecca dominated the paint outscoring the Hawks 52-8 led by as many as 30 in the game  

PLAYER STATS REPORT

Pepperman scored her 31 points with 13-18 shooting from the field and hit her only three pointer and added nine rebounds, just missing a double-double … the junior added four assists and a block in 31 minutes of play … Kaitlynn Wilks also missed a double-double by one rebound, contributing 15 points and nine rebounds … Samantha Whiteman scored 10 with six assists … Olivia Stephens added seven rebounds    

WHAT'S NEXT    

Trevecca hits the road for the next four games. First, they visit the University of Alabama Huntsville (1-3) on the 21st of November for a 5:30 PM contest at Spragins Hall. Trevecca is 6-2 all-time versus the Chargers in the D2 Era.

The Trojans visit Auburn Montgomery (11.27 / Noon) before playing two at the Bellarmine Thanksgiving Classic. On the 29th, the Trojans play the host Knights at 2 PM and on the 30th, the University of Southern Indiana at 2 PM.

In the NCAA D2 Era, this is the first meeting with AUM while Bellarmine leads the series 3-0 and Southern Indiana owns the win in the only meeting.

When Trevecca returns to the Trojan Fieldhouse next, it will be to open Great Midwest play with Tiffin University on December 5th (5:30 PM) and Ohio Dominican University on December 7th (2 PM).
