HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (0-4) lost on the road at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (4-1), 88-43, at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall.

SERIES/HISTORY: 

Alabama Huntsville owns a 9-4 advantage in the series. The Chargers own the last three in the series, but TNU took four of the previous seven.  

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Trojans held a 9-8 lead at the 15:30 mark, but the Chargers outscored their guests 35-10 the rest of the half to take a 43-19 lead at the break. The lead grew to 39 as the Chargers held TNU scoreless for the first 4:30 of the second half to go up 58-19.

UAH grabbed an 11-point lead just over nine minutes into the game, and the advantage would never narrow back into single digits the rest of the way.

Trevecca entered the game 4th in the country in free throw percentage, hitting 8-12 (67%). The Trojans are hitting .767 (23-30) from the foul line on the year.  

The Chargers connected on 56.1% (32-57) from the field and hit 50% (17-34) from three-point range. UAH dominated the glass, outrebounding the Trojans 46-21. The Chargers owned a 27-7 margin in points off turnovers and outscored Trevecca 17-2 in second-chance points
 

UAH entered the night ranked 16th in the country in 3-point field goal percentage defense, holding the Trojans to 28.2% (11-39). Trevecca is shooting .307 (42-137) from three-point range on the season.

Jaquez Gilbert, the Trojans leading scorer on the year (9.8 ppg), led the team with 12 points, hitting 3-6 from three-point range.
