NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (3-15, 2-8 G-MAC) lost to visiting Alderson Broaddus University (13-5, 7-4 G-MAC) 74-66 on Thursday night in Trojan Fieldhouse.

SERIES/HISTORY:

The Batters lead the series 10-1, with a win in the last three meetings. Trevecca broke the 7-0 start in the series for ABU with a 77-55 win at the conference tournament in March of 2016. The teams will meet again in Philippi, WVA on February 17th.

GAME CHRONICLE

The game was tight early, following a 6-0 start for the Trojans, but Trevecca pulled ahead 33-24 with 3:02 left in the first half. Trevecca pushed the lead to 10 (38-28) when Michael Thompson hit a three with a minute gone in the second half. The Battlers tied the game at 44 with 12:01 to go. The Battlers ended the game on a 19-6 run, coming from five down (60-55, 5:51) to win 74-66.

TEAM STATS BREAKDOWN

Trevecca shot 39% (23-59) from the field, 32% (7-22) from three-point range, and 93% (13-14) from the line. ABU outscored TNU 20-16 in the paint and 16-12 on points off of turnovers. ABU outrebounded TNU 41-28.  

PLAYER STATS REPORT

Jacob Williams led Trevecca with 26 points hitting 8-of-17 from the field and all six free throw attempts. He added three steals. Mehdi El Mardi paced Trevecca with eight rebounds. Deion Johnson and Donavon Henry led TNU with four assists.  

WHAT'S NEXT

Trevecca will end its three-game homestand on Saturday when they host Davis & Elkins College (4-11, 2-8 G-MAC) at 4 PM at the Trojan Fieldhouse. The Senators lead the series 5-4 and have won the last three in the series. Trevecca owned a four-game win streak prior to that run.
