CANTON, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team lost in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference game on Saturday at Malone University, 79-60, at Osborne Hall.

Trevecca senior Sarah Raby (SR/Lynchburg, TN) scored 13 points at Malone today, giving her 1005 career points. She is the 13th Trojan to surpass the 1000 career point threshold. She is the first to do it in the NCAA Division II era. Raby now owns 1005 career points, 512 rebounds, 99 assists, 54 blocks, and 74 steals. Her career scoring average is 10 points per game. Raby is in the top 10 in made field goals, field goal percentage, and three-point field goal percentage

GAME CHRONICLE

There were six lead changes and two ties in the first quarter

Malone led 15-14 after one quarter

Trevecca hit five three-pointers in the second

Malone connected on back-to-back threes for a 32-26 lead halfway through the quarter

Trevecca tied the game at 32-32 when Sarah Raby hit a three pointer

The second quarter went to the Pioneers as well, 19-18, and they led 34-32 at the half

Malone opened the third with a 21-5 run to establish a 55-37 advantage

The third quarter decided the game with MU outscoring TNU 26-10 for a 60-42 lead after three

Adi Hale (SO/Lexington, TN) led Trevecca with 14 points and four steals, adding 4-7 shooting from three-point land

McKenzie Kilburn (FR/Summertown, TN) added 11 points

Kiersten Hunter (FR/Lilburn, GA) collected five points, five rebounds, three assist, and three steals

Malone also had a player break the 1000 career points mark, Rachel Goddard became the 22nd Pioneer to do so

 

WHAT'S NEXT  

The Trojans then travel to Elkins, WV to take on G-MAC foe Davis & Elkins College Senators (15-5, 6-3 G-MAC) on Thursday (2/9/17) at 4:30 PM. It is the fourth of a five-game road trip. The Trojans are 6-2 all time verses the Senators, losing their last game in the series earlier this year at Trojan Fieldhouse, 77-53.

 

Trevecca plays at Alderson Broaddus University (8-14, 3-6 G-MAC) on Feb. 11 at 1 PM. The Trojans are 6-1 all-time versus the Battlers.

 

The Trojans next home game is Thursday, February 16th at 6 PM when Ohio Valley University (6-15, 0-9 G-MAC) comes to visit. TNU is 6-1 versus the Scots, winning 75-58 at OVU on Jan. 7th.  

 

The final two home games are Feb. 18 at 2 PM versus Cedarville University (14-8, 6-3 G-MAC) and then Feb. 25 at 2 PM versus Kentucky Wesleyan College(14-6, 4-5 G-MAC). TNU is 3-6 all-time versus the Yellow Jackets and 5-6 versus the Panthers.
