CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball opened their 2017 Great Midwest Athletic Conference schedule on the road at Cedarville University, falling 70-58 on Thursday at the Callan Athletic Center.

The game opened with a 5-0 Trojan run, then a 9-0 Yellow Jacket run for a 9-5 CU lead with 5:25 left

CU led 14-8 with 2:07 left, TNU used 8-2 run for 16-16 tie at end of 1st Quarter

Jackets took 21-16 lead with 5-0 start to 2nd Quarter, TNU tied game at 21-21 with 5-0 run

TNU, trailing 33-28 with 2:06 left, took 34-33 halftime lead with 6-0 run

CU tied it at 44-44, but Trevecca closed the quarter up 51-47

The game came down to a 13-2 start to the 4th Quarter by the Jackets for a 60-53 lead

Trevecca cut it to three, 60-57, CU outscored TNU 10-1 to the close for a 70-58 win

CU topped in rebounding 36-34

TNU protected the ball with just nine turnovers, while picking up nine steals to help force 15 CU turnovers

CU outscored TNU 23-7 in the fourth, the only quarter they outscored TNU

Sarah Raby (SR/Lynchburg, TN) led Trevecca with 18 points with 6-13 shooting

Megan Kilburn (SR/Summertown, TN) added 10 with a team-high seven rebounds

Kiersten Hunter (FR/Lilburn, GA) dished out four assists while Miriam Kirk (SO/Antioch, TN) contributed five steals and six rebounds

Regina Hockstetler scored 23 for CU and hit 5-of-11 from three

WHAT'S NEXT

Trevecca stay on the road in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play on January 7th at Ohio Valley University (4-7, 0-1 G-MAC). TNU leads OVU 5-1 in the all-time series, but OVU took the last meeting, also in Vienna, WV.

The first home date in 2017 is January 12th when Malone University (8-4, 1-0 G-MAC), a new member of the G-MAC this season, comes to visit the Trojan Fieldhouse for the first time and starts a five-game home stand for the Trojans.
