Women's Basketball | Trevecca Drops G-MAC Home Opener, Host Ursuline Saturday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team opened a five-game home stand with their first home Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) of the year, but fell 62-43 to conference newcomer Malone University at the Trojan Fieldhouse on Thursday.

GAME CHRONICLE

Malone started the game with a 6-1 run and led 14-4 through six minutes

The first quarter ended 20-9 in favor of Malone

Trevecca managed to cut the lead to as little as five (28-23) with 1:32 left in the quarter

Malone led at the half 31-23

Malone outscored Trevecca 15-9 in the third quarter and 16-9 in the fourth for a final margin

Malone salted the game away with a 13-0 run that started with 2:18 left in the third quarter to the 6:06 mark in the fourth

 Sarah Raby (SR/Lynchburg, TN) led the team in rebounds with five

  

WHAT'S NEXT

Trevecca hosts G-MAC favorite Ursuline College (11-5, 3-0 G-MAC) on Saturday, January 14 at 2 PM. The Arrows have won the last three in the series, but Trevecca owns a 7-3 edge in the series.

 

Alderson Broaddus University (4-11, 0-3 G-MAC) visits on Thursday, Jan. 19th at 6 PM, Davis & Elkins College (9-4, 1-2 G-MAC) is at the Fieldhouse on the 21st at 2 PM, and Kentucky State University (5-8, 2-4 SIAC) concludes the home stand with a non-conference tilt on the 24th at 6 PM. Trevecca is 6-0 versus the Battlers, 6-1 versus the Senators, and are 0-2 versus the Thorobreds.
