Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca women's basketball team (15-9, 12-2 G-MAC) hosted Ohio Valley University (6-17, 5-9 G-MAC) in the last leg of conference regular season play on Thursday, February 26, to earn their ninth straight conference win, 75-66. The Trojans are now 4-0 in the all-time series against Ohio Valley. Kaci Britt Bell (SR/Mt. Juliet, TN) marked 22 points for the Trojans and her first basket at 18:51 was enough for her to pass her 1000th career point mark. ÂÂ

The Trojans will play their final game of the regular season on Saturday, February 28 at 2 p.m. in the Fieldhouse versus Salem International University (0-26, 0-14 G-MAC). The Trojans are 4-0 in the all-time series against Salem with their most recent win earlier this season at Salem, 72-51, on December 4, 2014. Saturday will be Senior Day to honor our seniors: Kaci Britt Bell, Christina Curtner, Haley Felker, and Kylie White. Both teams rallied for the lead in the beginning of the game, seeing three ties in the first nine minutes. The first 3-3 at 18:51, then 15-15 at 12:00, and finally 17-17 with 11:24 left in the half. The Trojans would push out a slight lead of five but the Scots would bring it back to be down by just one point with 5:23 remaining. The Trojans played a strong defense pushing the Scots to play against the shot clock. A 5-0 run from TNU would give them the greatest lead of the half, eight, with just 1:20 left to play. OVU would put one more basket in to finish the half down by six, 31-25.
Out of the break, TNU took a 14-4 run to gain the greatest lead of the game of 16 at 14:42, 45-29. Despite only having six players on their roster for the night, the Scots continued to fight for the lead. They made their last push with q 10-6 run to bring the deficit down to five but TNU continued to stretch that deficit back out. Trevecca would finish out on top, 75-66.
Trevecca was led by Kaci Britt Bell with 22 points and 10 rebounds, good for a double-double. Sarah Raby (SO/Lynchburg, TN) and Paige Baugher (JR/Mt. Juliet, TN) also hit double digits in scoring with 16 and 11, respectively. Christina Curtner (SR/Chapel Hill, TN) and Paige Baugher both contributed five assists.
The Trojans saw 17 points off of 16 Scot turnovers, 15 second chance points, and 15 fast break points. They outshot OVU 38.6% (27-of-70) in the field with 13.3% (2-of-15) behind the arc and 79.2% (19-of-24) behind the line. Ohio Valley shot 37.3% (22-of-59) from the field with 36% (9-of-25) behind the arc and 48.1% (13-of-27) behind the line.
Kaci Britt Bell now has 1021 career points an average 12.6 points a game this season, following in the lead of her father and Trevecca alum, Tim Bell. Tim played for the Trojans from 1982-1986 and holds the fourth place scoring record for Trevecca with 2079 points, an average of 15.47 a game. She is the first Trevecca basketball player to eclipse the 1000 career scoring mark in the NCAA Era.
