Box Score 2 NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Trevecca men's basketball team (2-5) defeated No. 19 University of Alabama in Huntsville (3-2) 81-76 on Monday at the Trojan Fieldhouse. It is the second year in a row that the Trojans have upset a nationally ranked Charger team at the Fieldhouse.

Trevecca visits Clayton State University (3-0 | WATCH) for a 2 PM game on Dec. 7 and McKendree University (4-0 | WATCH) on Dec. 12 at 7 PM. The next home game is Thursday, Dec. 17 at 7 PM when Saint Joseph's College (2-4) visits the Trojan Fieldhouse (WATCH).

The game was dubbed the "Holiday Hoops" night, Have Yourself a Moorey Little Christmas, sponsored by Trevecca's CLCS (Center for Leadership Calling and Service) with a great crowd on hand to witness the upset.

UAH, who were ranked No. 12 in the preseason poll, defeated Trevecca 85-78 on Nov. 21 in Huntsville.

Trevecca leads the all-time series with the Chargers 8-7 following the win and have defeated UAH three consecutive years at the Fieldhouse. ÂÂ

Huntsville opened the game on a 5-0 run, but rallied and eventually took a 13-11 lead with 13:43 to go in the half.

Trevecca used a 13-3 run to take a seven-point (21-14) lead with 10:45 to go in the half.

The Purple & White pushed the lead to 11 (39-28) with 2:26 left in the half and held a 43-33 lead by the half. TNU's Byron Sanford had 14 points and four rebounds at the break.

Trevecca led by as many as 13 (48-35) early in the second half. The Trevecca led was just three (60-57) following a 22-12 run at 10:28 on the game clock.

Trevecca rebuilt the lead to six (67-61), but the Chargers were not finished.

The Chargers completely erased the deficit and pulled ahead 70-67 with 4:58 left in the game.

The Trojans responded by scoring 12 of the next 14 points en route to closing the game on a 14-6 run to secure the victory.

Trojan Byron Sanford's 21 points and seven assists led the Trojans, the senior from Louisville added six rebounds and five steals while only turning the ball over once. Mac Walden (13), Tyrell Corlew (SR/Louisville, KY)), and Slay Chol (11) all added double figure scoring in support. Chol led the Trojans with seven rebounds.

Trevecca outscored Huntsville 20-3 in points scored off of turnovers while UAH had a 15-9 edge in second chance scoring.

Charger Kip Owens scored a career-high 20 points, going 7-for-10 from the field and 4-for-5 from beyond the arc. UAH featured three others in double figures as Brandon Roberts scored 14, while Troy Saxton and Preston Herring both added 10.

Herring grabbed a season-best 16 rebounds to help UAH win the battle of the boards 52-35.

For the contest, TNU outshot UAH by a 46.3 percent to 40.6 percent margin, and the Trojans hit 12 3-pointers while limiting the visitors to a 7-for-23 showing from beyond the arc.

Both teams struggled at the charity stripe, TNU was 7-for-14 and UAH was 13-for-21.
