Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (5-9, 2-2 G-MAC) lost 69-60 at Cedarville University's (2-11, 1-1 G-MAC) Callan Arena on Saturday. Jackets have won three in a row in the series and have a 5-1 edge in the all-time versus Trevecca.

The Yellow Jackets used a 7-0 and eventually a 10-3 start fuel their first win in 11 games. It wasn't easy though as the Trojans battled back to lead 18-14 when Taylor Clay buried a three-pointer with 7:23 left in the first half. Clay's three was preceded by a three from Nick Drake.

The Trojans didn't give up the lead until the 3:12 mark of the first half when Cedarville buried a pair of free throws.

A Christopher Elliott three-pointer with 1:42 left tied the game at 29-29. A minute later Krys Renfrow sank a free throw to give the Trojans a 30-29 lead.

Cedarville's Marcus Reineke connected on a three-pointer with just 34 seconds remaining to give the Jackets a 32-30 half time lead.

 With 11:12 remaining in the game Elliott buried another three pointer, giving Trevecca a 45-44 lead. Though Cedarville briefly took the lead a couple of times, Trevecca held the lead for the most part until the Jackets reclaimed the lead for good with 3:49 when J.C. Faubion scored on a layup to put the Jackets up 58-56.

CU built on its lead and held off the Trojans for a 67-60 victory.

Trevecca shot 47% (22-47) from the field, 44% (8-18) from three-point range, and 53% (8-15) from the foul line. The Jackets won the rebounding battle 34-24. Both teams turned the ball over 14 times.

Byron Sanford led the Trojans with 20 points, five rebounds, five assists, and six steals. Sanford shot 8-of-10 from the field and 4-of-5 from the foul line.

Nick Drake added 13 points, five rebounds, and four assists.

Marcus Reineke led the Jackets with 23 points on 5-of-7 shooting from three-point range. Brian Grant added 19 points and 10 rebounds.

Trevecca will host Alderson Broaddus University (7-4, 1-0 G-MAC), for the first time in program history, Thursday, January 9 at 8 p.m. The Battlers are located in Elkins, W.Va.
