Box Score LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Trevecca women's basketball team (5-6) lost 77-67 to Bellarmine University Knights (4-4) in Saturday's final game of the Knight's MetroMedical Solutions Holiday Classic at Knight Hall. It was the first meeting for the two programs.

Trevecca's scoring struggles continued in the first half of tonight's game as the team shot just 33% (10-30) from the field and were 0-for-8 from long range. Bell led Trevecca with six points and four rebounds in the opening half.

Trevecca opened the game with a 6-4 lead, but Bellarmine gained the advantage and built a seven-point lead (16-9) with 11:10 remaining in the half. TNU scored six straight to make it a 16-15 Knight advantage with 9:10 on the clock.

Bellarmine opened up what had been a tight contest with a 17-5 run. When the dust cleared the Knights led Trevecca 33-20 with 3:18 remaining. BU closed out the half with a 12-point (36-24) advantage.

Trevecca cut the lead to just nine by scoring the first three points of the second half. Bellarmine responded with a 7-0 run and established their largest lead, a 16-point (43-27) advantage, with 17:15 left in the game. Â

Trevecca countered with a 10-2 run that cut their deficient to just eight points (45-37) with 13:17 left.

Bellarmine slowly regained control and pushed the lead to 17 (66-49), the largest lead of the game, with 5:10 remaining in the game.

Trevecca closed the gap on a couple of occasions, but could not cut the lead inside of 10 points the remainder of the game. The final margin was 10 (77-67) in the win for the Knights.

After a poor shooting first half, the Trojans began to connect in the second half. Trevecca outscored the Knights 43-41 in the second half. The Trojans hit 55% (16-29) from the field, 57% (4-7) from three-point range, and 78% (7-9) from the foul line in the second half.

Anna Mitchell led Trevecca with 14 points. Kaci Britt Bell contributed 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Christina Curtner scored nine points and added team-high seven rebounds and six assists. Paige Baugher added nine points, five assists, four steals, and three rebounds. Bell was named to the All-Classic team.

For the game Trevecca shot 44% (26-59) from the field, 27% (4-15) from three-point range, and 61% (11-18) from the line. After being out rebounded 24-17 in the first half, the Trojans matched the Knights 15-15 in the second half.

Trevecca topped Bellarmine in points scored in the paint (36-26), but the Knights had the edge in bench scoring (45-26) and points off of turnovers (17-13).

Jessica Hardin led Bellarmine with 17 points. Hardin came off the bench to hit 5-of-7 from beyond the three-point arc. As a team the Knights were 8-of-18 from three-point range and hit 15-of-18 from the line. Â The Knights also controlled the boards 39-32.

Trevecca returns to action on Thursday, January 2nd at 4:30 p.m. when they visit Central State University (4-2, 0-0 G-MAC). Trevecca visits Cedarville University (3-6, 0-0 G-MAC) on January 4th at 1 p.m. before returning home for another G-MAC battle with Alderson Broaddus University (0-8, 0-1 G-MAC) January 9th at 6 p.m.Â
