Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca women's basketball team (8-14, 4-6 TranSouth) defeated Blue Mountain (3-17, 0-9 TranSouth) 82-46 on Saturday afternoon at the Trojan Fieldhouse. Trevecca benefited from three 20-point scorers as
Anna Mitchell (Christ Presbyterian Academy) led the way with a career-high 23 points.
Rachel Raby and
Anissa Ragland (McGavock High School) added 20 points. It was a career-high for Ragland.
Rachel Raby scored four of Trevecca's first eight points and helped the Trojans to a 8-3 lead. The Toppers cut the Trojan lead to just two points (16-14) on a Amber Johnson three-point basket With 11:25 remaining in the first half. Over the next 10:30 of game time Trevecca outscored Blue Mountain 22-2 for a 38-16 Trojan lead. Six Trojans (

Rachel Raby,
Lauren Wasson,
Anissa Ragland,
Haley Felker,
Chelsey Taylor) scored during the run. Ragland scored eight of the 22 points while Raby added six. Blue Mountain scored the last five points of the half for a 38-21 score at the break. In the second half Trevecca added to its lead and eventually settled for a 36 point (82-46) win.
Trevecca coach Gary Van Atta was excited about the teams effort saying, "I don't know that we've ever had three 20-point scorers in a game at Trevecca. I don't remember that happening in my time here."
Van Atta continued, "This was a well-deserved win and a team effort. The stat sheet tells the story of balance and contributions from everyone. How many times do you see a guard with 14 rebounds. It was also great to see Chelsey back out on the court."
Aside from Mitchell and Ragland setting a career-high in scoring, there were five other career-high's set by Trojan players on the night. Raby tied a career-high with five blocks.
Kayla Biles had a game-high and career-high 14 rebounds.
Haley Felker's seven assists and seven rebounds were both career-high's.
Lauren Wasson had a career-high nine rebounds. Raby grabbed 13 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season. Raby's line was impressive with 20 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, five blocks, and three steals. Raby was 9-13 from the field.
Lauren Wasson and
Kayla Biles also filled up multiple statistical categories. Wasson scored eight points and added nine rebounds, four assists and had a steal. Biles had 14 rebounds, seven points, four assists and a steal.
As a team Trevecca shot 43% (30-70) from the field and 81% (21-26) from the foul line. Trevecca won the rebounding battle 67-35. Trevecca had a 46-18 advantage in points scored in the paint. TNU topped Blue Mountain 44-25 in the second half.
Blue Mountain was led in scoring by Jessi Hayles 12 points. The Toppers shot 24% (18-74) from the field, 22% (7-32) from three-point range, and 37% (3-8) from the foul line.
Thursday night, Trevecca wil host Bethel University (11-12, 3-6 TranSouth) at 6 p.m. The Trojans routed the Wildcats 70-44 on January 12th at Dishman Gym.
