Box Score 2 PULASKI, Tenn.- NAIA No. 9 Trevecca (8-0, 2-0 TranSouth) opened conference play at #RV Martin Methodist (10-7, 1-3 TranSouth) and came away with a pair of wins, 6-3 and 8-2.
GAME ONE
Trevecca scored three in the third, but Martin Methodist scored a run in the bottom half of the inning to make it 3-1. Trevecca added two runs in the fourth and a run in the fifth for a 6-1 lead. The RedHawks added two in the seventh for the 6-3 final.
Lauren Baker (4-0) picked up the complete game victory. Baker allowed nine hits and two earned runs while walking one and striking out seven. Katlin White (4-3) took the loss for the RedHawks. White pitched 3.1 innings, allowing five runs on five hits with five walks and three strikeouts.
Trevecca scored six runs on 10 hits with eight runners left on base and committed one error. Martin Methodist scored their two runs on nine hits while leaving eight runners on base and had three errors.
Breanna Zeis was 1-3 with a double and a stolen base.
Heather Shuler was 2-2 with a run scored and a double.
Kelsey Lantrip was 2-4 with a run scored.
Melinda Patterson was 2-4 as well.
GAME TWO
Trevecca scored three in the top of the first inning and added three more in the third and a single run in the fourth and sixth. Trevecca led 7-0 when the host RedHawks scored their first run in the bottom of the fifth and they added another run in the sixth.
Riley Mashburn (3-0) started and pitched a complete game. The junior allowed six hits, an earned run, four walks, and struck out four.
Karli Rush was 3-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Breanna Zeis was 2-4 with a run scored and two RBI.
Trevecca scored eight runs on 12 hits, left five runners on base, and committed two errors. Martin Methodist scored their two runs on six hits, left eight on base, and had four errors. Caroline Ezell (1-1) took the loss in the circle for the RedHawks. Ezell lasted 5.2 innings and gave up eight hits and two earned runs while striking out six.
Melinda Patterson was 1-1 with a double and two RBI.
Riley Mashburn was 2-3,
Kari Mason was 2-4 with two runs scored, and
Lauren Baker was 0-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Trevecca heads to Gulf Shores, Ala. for the
Gulf Coast Invitational beginning March 11. Trevecca will play Shorter University, McKendree University, LSU-Alexandria, Brenau University, and Southern Nazarene. The next home game will be at 4 p.m. on March 15 against Rogers State.Â
