Box Score PULASKI, Tenn. - The Trevecca Trojan softball team (17-4) dropped a pair of one-run games at No. 8 Martin Methodist (21-6). Both games ended in 3-2 RedHawk victories. The second game was an 8-inning affair. Both teams are TranSouth members, but the double header won't count towards the conference standings.

In game one, Martin Methodis scored a run in the bottom of the first and led 1-0 until the pushed another run across in the sixth for a 2-0 lead. Trevecca scored their two runs in the top of the seventh to tie the game 2-2. The RedHawks regained the lead and secured the win with a run in their half of the seventh.

Trevecca had five hits and an error while Martin had seven hits and no errors.

Riley Mashburn (9-2) took the loss after going 6.1 innings allowing seven hits, three runs, two earned, four walks, and struck out eight. Katlin White (11-1) picked up the win with 7.0 innings of work and allowed five hits, two runs, five walks, and stuck out 12.

Mashburn and Karli Rush each hit a double for the Trojans. Megan Hemmingsen was 1-3 with an RBI and a walk.

In game two, Trevecca fell behind 1-0 as the RedHawks scored a in their half of the first inning. Trevecca tied the game 1-1 with a run in the fourth. The game went to extra inning and in the top of the eighth Trevecca scored a run and led for the first time in the double header. The host RedHawks answered with a two runs in their half of the eighth and swept the double header from the Trojans in matching 3-2 finals.

Trevecca had seven hits and an error while Martin had 10 hits and two errors. Kelsey Lantrip was 2-4 with a double and a walk.  

Lauren Baker (8-2) pitched 7.2 innings and gave up 10 hits, three runs, two earned runs, four walks, and had eight strike outs. Chrissy Worth (10-5) pitched all eight innings an allowed seven hits, two unearned runs, walked five, and struck out five.

Trevecca will rest for a few days before visiting Cumberland University (5-8, 1-1 TranSouth) for a pair of games on Tuesday, March 22 at 2 p.m.
