Box Score JACKSON, Tenn. - The No. 20 Trevecca Trojans (14-6, 5-2, TranSouth)
suffered their 2nd conference loss, falling 101-60 to No. 15 Union
(16-6, 7-1 TranSouth) in a battle between first place TranSouth teams.
This
was the 72nd meeting between Trevecca and Union in men's basketball,
with Union now holding a 47-25 advantage in the series. Union has won
three in a row in the series, including both meetings last season.
Trevecca has a 6-5 advantage in the series over the last five years.
The
Trojans actually led early in the ballgame, at 12-4 and 14-5, before
Union went on a 13-0 run to take an 18-14 lead. Trevecca then outscored
the Bulldogs 10-5 to go up 24-23, before Union finished the half on a
31-4 run to take a 54-28 lead to the break. It never got any closer
from there, as the Bulldogs romped to their seventh win in eight
conference games.
Jeremy Dixon led the Trojans with 17 points
and added six rebounds, while
Michael France added 11 and Matthew
Elliott chipped in with 10. Stan McNeil paced five Bulldogs in double
figures with 19 points.
Trevecca will host Martin Methodist (14-6, 3-4 TranSouth) on Saturday at 4 p.m.ÂÂ
