Tenn. - Trevecca (21-17, 8-6 TranSouth)
wraped up their regular season on Friday afternoon when they traveled
to Pulaski, Tenn. for a TranSouth matchup against the Martin
Methodist RedHawks (38-9, 13-1 TranSouth). The RedHawks took the first
game 7-2, and they completed the sweep with a 6-2 game two victory.ÂÂ
Trevecca
jumped on the board early with a pair of runs in the top of the first
inning, but the RedHawks answered with a four run bottom half to take
the 4-2 lead. Martin added three more runs in the fourth to chase the
Trojans' starter Lauren Baker. Stephanie Fisher pitched the final two
and two-thirds innings, but the offense could not muster any support,
and the RedHawks took game one 7-2.
Baker
(6-3) took the loss for the Trojans, lasting just three and one-third
innings and giving up seven runs - four earned - on six hits. Baker
walked three and struckout three in the game as well. Sally Gale (18-4)
earned the win for the RedHawks. Offensively for Trevecca, Karli Rush
was 1-for-3 with a triple (7); Megan Suggs and Chelsea Bailey were each
1-for-3 with a run scored; and Megan Hemmingsen was 1-for-3. Martin
Methodist scored seven runs on six hits, while Trevecca scored two runs
on four hits. Each team committed one error.

In
game two, Martin Methodist took the lead in the bottom of the first
with three runs, and though the Trojans would score twice in the top of
the second to cut the defecit to one, they were unable to tie the game.
Martin came back with a run in the third inning, and two more in the
sixth to provide the final margin of 6-2.

Riley
Mashburn (7-7) took the loss for the Trojans, tossing four innings and
allowing four runs - two earned - on six hits and notching two
strikeouts. Chrissy Worth (10-2) earned the win for Martin Methodist.
Megan Hemmingsen led the way for the Trojans offensively. She was
2-for-3 with a pair of doubles (5), a run scored, and an RBI (20).
Martin Methodist scored six runs on nine hits and made three errors,
and Trevecca scored two runs on four hits and made one error.

Trevecca will begin postseason play on April 29th in the TranSouth Tournament, to be held this year in Pulaski, Tenn.
