NASHVILLE, Tenn. - NAIA No. 11 Trevecca (21-5, 10-3 TranSouth) visited Martin Methodist (18-9, 6-8)
on Saturday, taking the hard-fought win 74-68.

The
RedHawks started the game with a 10-3 run to take control early, but
the Trojans chipped away, taking their first lead at 19-18 on a Casey
Pigue three-pointer with 9:50 to play. Martin Methodist scored five
straight points to take the 23-19 lead. The Trojans tied the game at
23-23 with 2:45 remaining, and the teams battled closely for the rest
of the half. At the break, the Trojans held a 35-34 lead. The RedHawks
took the lead back at 42-41 early in the second half, but the Trojans
continued to battle. With 9:19 to go, the Trojans took the lead back
for good when Abby Lawson converted to make it 56-55 Trojans. A K.C.
Van Atta three with 4:14 left gave the Trojans an eight point advantage
at 63-55, and down the stretch the RedHawks could get no closer than
four as the Trojans held on for the 74-68 win.

Bognar led the Trojans with 16 points, eclipsing the 1,500 point mark
(1,503) and becoming the first Trojan ever to record at least 1,500
points and 700 rebounds. Bognar is now just 18 rebounds shy of Lindsey
Fly's all-time Trevecca record of 728. Paige McFarlin had 14 points in
the game, Christian Gibson had 11, and K.C. Van Atta added 10. Abby
Lawson led the Trojans with five rebounds, and Gibson dished out five
assists.

a team, the Trojans shot 23-of-53 (43.4%) from the floor, 7-of-16
(43.8%) from deep, and 21-of-30 (70%) from the charity stripe. The
difference in the game was at the foul line, as each team had 23 made
field goals and seven made three-pointers, but the Trojans hit 21 free
throws to 15 for Martin Methodist.
