Trevecca (17-1, 6-0 TranSouth) hit the road Thursday for the second of two weeknight games this week,
traveling to Blue Mountain College (2-15, 0-7). Trevecca won the game
93-48. The Trojans dominated the paint, outscoring the Toppers 64-14 in
the paint.
Blue Mountain led 5-4
when the Trojans surged ahead 19-5 with a 15-0 run. The Toppers cut the
lead to just seven points (31- 24), but the Trojans responded and led
by 16 points (46-30) at the half. The Trojans pulled away throughout
the second half and claimed the 93-48 victory. The Trojans outscored
the Toppers 48-17 in the second half.
Jennifer
Bognar led four Trojans in double figure scoring with 24 points. Paige
McFarlin (21), Angelica Sails (14), and Abby Lawson (14) also hit
double figures. Bognar also led the team in rebounding (9) and blocks
(5). Christian Gibson led the team in assists (6) and steals (3).
As
a team the Trojans hit 37-of-65 (57%) from the field, 5-of-13 (38%)
from beyond the three-point arch, and 14-of-20 (70%) from the foul
line. Trevecca won the rebounding effort 44-37 and held Blue Mountain
to just 5-of-29 (17%) from three-point range.
The final game of the team's stretch of four games in eight days is
back at Moore Gym with Cumberland University
(6-14, 2-5) visiting on Saturday
(Jan. 24) at 2 p.m.
