Hit .290 (27-93) on the year ... scored 16 runs and drove in 19 more ... played in 36 games ... hit six doubles, a triple, and three home runs ... drew 12 walks and stole three bases ... had a .473 slugging percentage and a .391 on-base percentage.
2019-20
Played in all 18 games and was a .509 (27-53) which led the team and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference ... scored nine runs and drove in a team and conference-best 29 runs ... hit 10 doubles, one triple, and three home runs ... drew four walks ... held a .906 slugging percentage (1st in G-MAC) and a .567 OBP percentage (2nd in G-MAC) ... finishes the season with the nation's 10th best batting average, 12th most RBIs, 13th best slugging percentage and 17th highest on-base percentage ... the 2020 softball season was shortened on March 13 due COVID 19 with the #11 ranked Trojans on a three-game winning streak.
2018-19
Started all 47 games as a sophomore this season ... was a .366 (53-for-145) batter who drove in 37 runs ... scored 35 runs off five doubles, a triple, and eight home runs ... drew eight walks and stole five bases ... had a .579 slugging percentage and a .409 on-base percentage ... had the ninth-best slugging percentage in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) ... her 35 runs scored were the sixth most in the league ... 37 RBIs were 10th most in the conference ... hit the sixth-most home runs in the G-MAC ... selected to the G-MAC All-Conference first team.
2017-18
Started in all 48 games she appeared in batting .340 (50-147) ... her .558 slugging percentage was sixth-best in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference ... had 50 hits including 13 doubles and two triples with five home runs and 36 RBIs ... drew 14 walks and stole one base ... her 36 RBIs were fifth-most in the G-MAC ... had the second-most putouts (303) in the G-MAC ... named to the G-MAC All-Conference first team and the TSWA Player of the Week (04/10/18).
HIGH SCHOOL NOTES
Groves is a five-year starter for coach Leslie Barrow at White House Heritage High School … Groves and White House Heritage finished as the runner-up at the 2016 TSSAA State Championships. Her accolades include selection as a four-time member of the all-district and all-county teams. Her batting average is .500 … Coach Tyree said, "We are excited to have Megan Groves join our team in the fall of 2017. We have gotten to know Megan over the years through her visits to our camps and by watching her play travel ball. She is a great student and someone that will compete just as well on the field. We can't wait to have her as a Lady Trojan as we know she'll become a valuable member of our family and our campus here on the Hill." … All-District performer 5 years … helped lead the team to a TSSAA State Runner-up finish as junior … reached TSSAA Sectionals as senior … Robertson All-County 9th – 12th grade … Played for Dewayne Dotson’s TN Ballhawks … High school Coach by Leslie Barrow … helped Frost Falcons finish in top four at ASA Nationals ... her parents are Lorie and Shannon Groves.
