2021-22
INDOOR: Opened the season at the MLK Collegiate Relays helping the 4x800m relay team to a 12:48.22, second-place finish ... at the TCNJ Invitational ran the 60m dash in 9.60 and produced a 1.41m result in the high jump ... at the Jud Logan Open ran the 60m hurdles in 12.69 and produced a 3.95m long jump ... ran the 800m run in 3:29.38 at the Reggie Thomas Classic where she also increased her high jump to 1.42m ... at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships completed her first pentathlon with 1,912 points (60m hurdles- 12.04, 800m run- 3:14.22, high jump- 1.45m, long jump- 4.05m, and shot put- 8.08m).
OUTDOOR: Began the season at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge where she finished the 100m hurdles in 20.67, long jump in 4.37m, javelin in 25.09 and the 200m dash in 30.85 ... competed in four events at the Rhodes Invitational (high jump- 1.48m, pole vault- 2.40m, long jump- 4.17m, and javelin- 30.51m) ... finished up the 200m dash in 31.13 at the UAB Spring Invite where she also jumped 4.22m in the long jump, and 9.49 in the triple jump with a 24.69m in the javelin throw ... completed the heptathlon at the Lee Invitational (100m hurdles- 18.93, 200m dash- 30.79, 800m run- 3:27.51, high jump- 1.49m, long jump- 4.30m, shot put- 8.44m, javelin- 24.38m to finish with 2,765 points) ... at the Rhodes 7-Way entered a 1.37m in the high jump, a 9.44m in the triple jump and a 24.57m in the javelin ... improved her heptathlon points to 2,872 (100m hurdles- 18.86, 200m dash- 29.89, 800m run- 3:08.10, high jump- 1.47m, long jump- 4.02m, shot put- 7.59m, and javelin- 26.56m) at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships where she also competed in the triple jump (9.35m) and javelin (28.05m).
HIGH SCHOOL NOTES
Ran at Gila Ridge High School in Yuma, Arizona where she went to the state meet all four years. Sims holds the GRHS school record for pole vault. Sims placed ninth in the state for pole vault during the 2018-19 season and 10th in the high jump in the same year. At the Southwest Region Championship, recorded high finishes of triple jump (1st), high jump (2nd), and pole vault (2nd).
