HIGH SCHOOL NOTES

Young is a product of East Robertson High School where she played for Kevin Evans and the Indians … Trevecca coach Ben Tyree said, "We are thrilled to welcome Lexi as a member of our 2017 signing class. She is a great player that everyone looks up to on the field and she is a great young lady off the field and in the community as well. She'll add character to our team and will be counted on to come in and help our team compete for championships. Lexi will be a great fit as a student-athlete in every sense of the name on the Hill." … Young is a three-time all-county, all-district, and district all-tournament honoree. Young also made the Tennessee Coaches All-Star team and helped the program reach the state tournament … Lexi Young on joining Trevecca softball, "I chose Trevecca because of Coach Tyree, the girls who will soon be my teammates, and the beautiful campus. The fact that TNU is close to home and mom made a difference as well. Trevecca appealed to me because I knew Brooke (Eakes) and Megan (Groves) were looking to come to the Hill as well. We've played ball together most of our lives and now we'll continue that at Trevecca. I know I made a great decision and I can't wait to be there next fall with Brooke, Megan, Kelsey (Seitz), and the rest of the team." … as a junior she recorded a .455 batting average after turning in a .450 and .510 as a sophomore and freshman respectively … off the field her honors include vice president of the student council, vice president of the beta club, and is a member of the National Honors Society … TSSAA All-District … helped lead high school team to three straight District Championships … played in TSSAA Sectionals 2 years …  Coached by Jason Littlejohn with Nashville Nighthawks Gold … also played basketball for Kenyatta Perry ... her parents are Vicki Young and the late Todd Young.
