NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca volleyball coach Jayme Crowley began her first season at Trevecca (1-0) on Thursday night with a 3-2 win over visiting Covenant College (0-1) at Moore Gym.
Covenant came out strong in the first set, taking the set 25-15. The Trojans, however bounced back in game two, taking it 25-18. The third game was a hard fought affair, going past the scheduled 25 points as Covenant took advantage of a pair of Trojan mistakes in a come-from-behind 27-25 win. Coach Crowley's team, however would not wilt, roaring back to take the final two sets 25-18 and 15-8 respectively, seizing a dramatic come-from-behind victory in the process.
Trevecca will return to action at the prestigious Taylor University Challenge on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the Trojans will take on Illinois Tech at 4:00 and St. Francis at 6:00, while on Saturday morning they will battle the host Taylor Trojans (9:00 a.m.) and Ohio Dominican College (11:00 a.m.).
